Personal Protective Equipment


First aid training guide

As a first aider you should be aware of certain diseases that you may acquire when in contact with some body fluids from the victim. There are certain diseases that can be transmitted if assuming the first aider comes in contact with these body substances without protection. It would be worthwhile to protect ourselves from this substances by using certain equipments.


The victims body fluids such as blood, saliva are always assumed to be carrying certain diseases. It would be best to have protection to minimize if not totally eliminate the risk. There are different protective equipments that the first aid provider can utilize in the advent of an emergency. Commonly called, Personal Protective Equipments (PPE), this devices can be carried around so that it will be readily available when needed. Herewith are the following protective equipments:

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENTS

  • Barrier Devices - pocket masks, face shield
  • Protective Eyewear
  • Face Mask (Surgical mask)
  • Medical Examination Gloves










It may also be worthwhile that a first aider should have immunization to some commonly recognized virus. (eg. Hepatitis B)

Baby gateways and security protection is the vital factor in the procedure. Stairways and other risky places must be fixed with security officers to prevent any drop.
